– 1 lb pasta (such as penne or fettuccine) – 1 cup mayonnaise – 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese – 1 cup heavy cream – 2 cloves garlic, minced – 1 cup cooked chicken, diced (optional) – 1 cup frozen peas – 1 tbsp olive oil – Salt and pepper to taste – Fresh parsley for garnish (optional)
Cook the Pasta: Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the pasta and cook according to the package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
Sauté the Garlic: In the same pot, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté for 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
Add Cream and Mayonnaise: Reduce the heat to low. Stir in the heavy cream and mayonnaise until well combined and smooth.
Incorporate Parmesan Cheese: Add the grated Parmesan cheese to the sauce, stirring constantly until the cheese is melted and the sauce is creamy.
Add Chicken and Peas: If using, add the diced cooked chicken and frozen peas to the pot. Stir to combine and cook for another 2-3 minutes until the chicken is heated through and the peas are tender.
Combine with Pasta: Return the cooked pasta to the pot with the sauce. Toss well to ensure all the pasta is coated with the creamy sauce.
